 At Juniper Root Woodland Microschool, we work to protect and feed a child’s inherent and insatiable appetite for knowledge. Just as we welcome and embrace all elements of nature, we welcome and embrace all facets of the human experience. Here, children are immersed in stimulating yet calming environments that encourage hands-on exploration and inquiry. Nature is the ultimate classroom and provides many of our learning materials. Our work is play, and nature is our playground. When not outside, children enjoy a dynamic indoor environment that evolves right along with them. Materials are designed around each child’s passions and are rotated on a regular basis to suit their ever-changing interests.

Hours

Our current hours are Mon-Fri 8:30am-3:30pm, 4 or 5 days per week.

Food

We provide breakfast and afternoon snack. Children bring their own lunch from home. We have a community garden and indoor aquaponics system that provide us with fresh veggies throughout the entire year.

Age Range

Our current student population consists of children from 3-9 years old. The school has been organically growing right along with this group and we intend to continue doing so for the foreseeable future. (I.e. next year, our population will be 3-10 years old)
